Life is a marathon, not a sprint! We are in it for the long haul.
The Christ said, “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit” (Jn 12:23-25)
This is true on so many levels. If a grain of wheat remains in a cozy bag with other grains of wheat he will tick along just fine but never realize the immense potential he is capable of. The same is true of our life. We need to get out of our comfort zone and be pushed to the edge. Few manage to strike out and flower and bloom sitting in the comfy wheat bag with others.
But the vast majority of people who have radically changed our lives and the world as we know it are those who either got kicked out of that comfy bag and had no where to go or those who jumped out of that bag into the soil of uncertainty with no guarantees. Both these groups of people could do two things - one is that they could try to get back into another bag; or two, learn to adapt and reinvent themselves according to the soil conditions.
We are at our greatest potential when we are left with no other recourse. It may sound crazy but its true.
Sink or swim anyone? Yes. Some grow fins they never had and start to swim, some look at the vastness of their failure/condition and decide to give up.
Giving up is NOT an option guys. It never really is. You only feel like that because you cant see into the future and believe. Even YOU, dont really know what YOU can sprout - once you let go of all the old baggage. If you are going through a pretty bad phase in life right now - use it! Use it as an opportunity for catharsis and purging. Just as a boat about to sink will get rid of all the unnecessary baggage - trim out your life and mind of all but the essential survival tools. There is no place for remorse, anger, hate and 'would have beens'. Be present in the present. Purge, purge and purge until you can focus on the 'really important stuff' that is you and find your purpose.
